Scott Simon is known to many as the host of NPR’s Weekend Edition, and as a bestselling author. His latest title is a sweet collection of stories and musings on adoption. As a fellow adoptive father of two beautiful daughters from China, I let Simon’s book take me on a journey down memory lane.
The author’s own story is interwoven with perspectives from a variety of people, including a politician, an economist, a sportswriter, and a Broadway producer. The book touches on just about every way a family can be formed through adoption, represented by different cultures and races.
Simon treats adoption with his trademark sense of humor, without whitewashing the challenging aspects. He offers something that everybody will enjoy, particularly those who are newly considering adoption.
