An Overview
Parents in the United States adopted 50 children from Poland in 2009. Children available for adoption live in orphanages, where the level of care and attention is fairly high. The Polish government sometimes gives preference to applicants of Polish descent or with other connections to Polish heritage and culture. Adoption between Poland and the United States is governed by the Hague Adoption Convention.

Timeline:From completed dossier to placement, from 12 to 20 months.
