As an adoptee in a mixed family of both biological and adopted children, working in the adoption field for the past 15 years has given me the opportunity to share my own adoption story and search for identity. I draw upon my personal experience, and understand complex family systems, as well as the grief and loss surrounding adoption.
Additionally, I have spent extensive time traveling all over the world, and have worked in orphanages in Ghana, Costa Rica and Cambodia. These diverse experiences in conjunction with my work in domestic and international adoption helped me to develop cultural humility, therefore informing my understanding of the global human experience and the complexities of transcultural and transracial adoption.
I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about your story, and what led to you choosing adoption.
