C.J. Lyford practices law in the areas of adoption and immigration/citizenship.
RE international adoption: She provides legal services and consultations to adoptive parents and agencies worldwide in response to USCIS, consulate, and related immigration and international adoption problems including responses to Notices of Intent to Deny, appeals of I-600 Orphan Petition, I-800 Hague Petition or I-130 Petition denials; and problems with U.S. immigration status and U.S. citizenship.
RE domestic adoptions: CJ represents clients in cases involving private and agency adoptions, adoption finalizations, and readoptions, as well as second parent, step-parent and relative adoptions in Pennsylvania. She also handles cases involving the adoption and subsequent legalization of foreign-born children residing in the U.S. who are adopted domestically, and assists individuals who are interested in adopting a relative abroad.
Her immigration practice also includes general family and business immigration matters.
She is a fellow in the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, and an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and many national and local adoption and immigration groups.
She is a solo practitioner and is not affiliated with any agency. She provides legal services only and does not identify or place children for adoption.
