There are more than 100,000 children in the U.S. foster system waiting for permanent families. Many people consider adopting from foster care, but don’t know how to get started. Adoption attorneys Denise M. Bierly, Esq., and Bobbie L. Rabuck, Esq., of Bierly & Rabuck, provide an overview of the foster adoption process and adoption subsidies, and answer your questions, including: What are the steps in the process? Denise M. Bierly, Esq., is the Director of Adoption for the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. She is a recent Past-President of the Academy and has been a Fellow since 1997. She was a member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission, tasked with the reform of Pennsylvania adoption laws, and she remains active in both State and Federal Adoption Laws. In 2014, Bierly was designated an “Angel in Adoption.” She is a parent by both birth and adoption.

Bobbie L. Rabuck, Esq., has been practicing adoption law since 2007. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Children’s Rights Committee and the 2014 President of the Centre County Bar Association. Rabuck is a parent by birth; however, her extended family has been built through adoption and guardianship.
