Davion Navar Henry Only is a 16-year-old boy who has lived in foster care and group homes in Florida for most of his life. He garnered national attention in 2013, after he made a public plea to be adopted, saying, “I’ll take anyone. Old or young, dad or mom, black, white, purple.” His plea generated a huge response — more than 10,000 people inquired about adopting him — and raised awareness about other teens who need permanent homes.
Davion was adopted by an Ohio minister and his family, but, only three months later, he was sent back to Florida. The teen was devastated and called his caseworker, Connie Going, the one person who had been a constant in his life. Davion had previously asked Going to adopt him, and this time she said yes.
